The procedure consists of 2 main stages, which may be different - contouring of the lips and/or increasing their volume. Their correction is not an independent process - for the most harmonious results it is necessary to take into account the size and projection of the chin and nose.
Over time, the lips lose their density, transverse lines are obtained on them, the contour is erased, the distance between the nose and the upper lip increases, the corners of the lips turn down. All these problems can be quickly and easily corrected through injection of fillers.

How is lip augmentation done
An important part is the aesthetic consultation, during which the doctor gets to know your wishes. Lip augmentation mainly consists of two stages, which may occur to varying degrees - contour and volume. Anesthesia is most often performed with lidocaine cream, which is applied and left on for about 15 minutes. An alternative option is a wire dental block (so-called dental anesthesia), which is, however, used less often. The anesthetic is then removed and the actual procedure begins, where thin needles inject part of the material along the course of the lips. This is followed by a massage, which ensures a smooth and homogeneous distribution of the filler. The whole procedure takes about 30-40 minutes.

After placing hyaluronic acid on the lips you may have a bruised sensation that goes away in 1-2 days and no pain relief is needed. Do not massage your lips unless specifically instructed to do so by your doctor. Avoid smoking and drinking from a straw during the day, and tanning beds for about a week.
Swelling after placing hyaluronic acid on the lips
The lips are one of the most blood-supplied anatomical areas, and the formation of edema is more the rule than the exception. The swelling will be most pronounced the next morning. It can be asymmetrical, more pronounced on the left or right, on the upper or lower lip. With each passing day, it will decrease and disappear completely within a few days. You can reduce swelling if you carefully plan your procedure. Do not take blood thinners (eg aspirin) or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for a few days beforehand. Taking Arnica Montana can reduce post-traumatic swelling. Avoid placing hyaluronic acid in the lips if you are in your period.

Contraindications
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, local infection in the treated area, malignant and some autoimmune diseases. The menstrual cycle, the intake of aspirin and NSAIDs are relative contraindications that do not prevent the procedure from being performed.
