Dermatosurgery is a branch of clinical dermatology that surgically treats problems of the skin and its appendages (hair and nails). Surgery is aimed at removing formations with different morphological characteristics. Malignant tumors such as malignant melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, rare skin tumors, as well as benign tumors such as moles, seborrheic keratoses, lipomas, epidermal cysts and others are treated.
The excision of the skin formation is performed under local anesthesia and in the absence of discomfort from the patient. After its removal, the primary defect is closed with intradermal (hidden in the skin) sutures in order to achieve a good aesthetic appearance of the scar. Each removed lesion is examined by a pathologist for histological verification of the lesion type. Depending on the individual case of the patient, the appropriate number of control examinations is assigned.
